Grab a local bus or subway and tour parts of your city, museums, botanical gardens, planetariums, zoos you've missed. (One of our editors found an amazing number of new sites to see within 10 or so miles of home. See at left.)

Or, the next vacation needn't be a thousand miles away...what about your nearest neighbor?  Think about it...if you live in Africa you have over 50 other countries within the distance it would take most people in the world to travel to another state or canton or village.  It's the dream of many people's lifetimes to visit Serengeti National Park or Mosi-0a-Tunya...you may live next door. Asia and Europe have this lucky travel future awaiting, too.
